Distance: about 4 mi. Round trip time: 0.5 to 2 hours
There are two entrances to Brotherhood, the ‘main’ entrance is just over the bridge by Safeway and across from Industrial road. The second is on backloop, between Montana Creek road and the bridge over the Mendenhall river.
This is a paved ‘trial’. There is a horse trail that forks off up into the woods just a little ways into the trail. It is a pretty flat trail, with only one hill. There is a bridge that goes over the river with a trail down for fishing. There are some trails through the woods that fork off the paved one.
In the summer, the tour buses stop in the parking lot so tourists can take picture of the meadow and glacier. So, there can be a lot of people milling around in the parking lot.
Sometimes, due to traffic, it can be hard to get out of the parking lot by Safeway.
The meadow where it starts by Safeway.
Has bags for you. There are four trash cans as well.
